Nick Provo's brother, Tyler Provo, has been a Syracuse target for some time. Syracuse has been the favorite to land the 3-star tight end prospect given the relationship his brother had with the University. However, with high profile schools like Alabama, Miami, and LSU showing interest, there was concern he could hold out for a better offer.
Well those concerns turned out not be valid, as Provo gave his verbal commitment today to Syracuse, CuseNation.com's John Garcia Jr reported. Garcia Jr tweeted out the news this afternoon.
The commitment is the first for Syracuse's 2013 class. They are looking heavy into quarterback prospects, and are also in on some high profile prospects. Look for the Orange recruiting to pick up in the next few months, as Marrone looks to gain some more commitments before the 2012 season begins.
