Isaiah Whitehead is one of the best guard prospects in the class of 2014. He recently took some time to speak with us and update his recruiting.
Nation of Orange: You played in an AAU even in Pittsburgh this past weekend. How did that go?
Isaiah Whitehead: It went great. I performed great, and ran the point very well. We lost in the quarterfinals, which was a disappointment. But I picked up new offers from Iowa State, Arizona, and UConn.
Nation of Orange: Where will you be playing next?
Isaiah Whitehead: I'll be playing at the Boo Williams EYBL Event next weekend.
Nation of Orange: How do your new offers affect your recruitment?
Isaiah Whitehead: They don't. I haven't really sat down and thought about my decision yet. I'm being patient with it.
Nation of Orange: There are reports out there that Syracuse is your favorite right now. Is that true? And who is in your top 5?
Isaiah Whitehead: Yes Syracuse is my favorite right now. There's really no top 5 right now. I just like Syracuse because I grew up watching them, because my favorite player is Carmelo Anthony.
Nation of Orange: When was the last time you heard from the Syracuse staff, and what did they tell you?
Isaiah Whitehead: The last time was during the season. They told me to getting getting better and working hard and I will be a great player.
Nation of Orange: Do you have any visits planned?
Isaiah Whitehead: Not yet, but I plan on visiting Iowa State, Syracuse, Arizona, Kentucky, and UCLA either this summer or next season.
Nation of Orange: What will be the most important factors in your decision?
Isaiah Whitehead: Family atmosphere, great coach, a title contender, a place that can make me better, and has good academics.
Nation of Orange: What is your time frame for your decision?
Isaiah Whitehead: I plan on making my decision after my junior year, after the AAU season.
