2013 Center Chinonso Obokoh has verbally committed to play for Jim Boeheim and the Syracuse Orange, Mike McAllister of CuseNation.com reports.
The 6'10" big man from nearby Rochester, NY chose SU (his dream school) on Monday over the likes of Texas, Villanova, Temple, Pittsburgh, and Providence, to name a few. He made the announcement just a few days after attending his second consecutive 'Orange Madness' on Friday night.
Obokoh is a 3-star recruit in the Class of 2013. The scouting report on him is as follows: He is an incredible post defender that can block shots, but has plenty of room for improvement on the offensive end. He's made some real progress over the years, according to Jim Hart, his coach at Bishop Kearney High School.
He joins PG Tyler Ennis as the newest member of Syracuse's '13 class. The two will begin play for the Orange next year, along with Duke transfer Mike Gbinije.
As far as the rest of the class of 2013 goes, Syracuse is still in the hunt for a few more top-rated prospects. 6'9" F Jermaine Lawrence, 6'7" F Tyler Roberson, and 6'3" G Rysheed Jordan have all mentioned Syracuse as a potential landing spot.
