Nick Internicola is a versatile prospect in the class of 2013 who can play either outside linebacker or defensive end. At 6'3" 210lbs, Internicola is yet another prospect out of Florida the Orange staff has on their radar. We caught up with Nick recently to discuss his game, recruitment, and interest level in Syracuse.
Nation of Orange: Tell us about the type of player you are.
Nick Internicola: I'm a very aggressive player which is my main strength. I need to work on using my hands for my get off.
Nation of Orange: How has recruiting gone? Who has offered?
Nick Internicola: Recruiting has been going well. I have offers from Boston College, Bowling Green, Cincinnati, Florida International, Houston, Memphis, Rutgers, South Florida, Syracuse, Tulane and West Virginia. I'm also receiving interest from Florida State, Illinois, Indiana, and Wisconsin.
Nation of Orange: Do you have a top 5 or any favorites right now?
Nick Internicola: No, but I'm starting to narrow it down.
Nation of Orange: Who has been recruiting you the hardest?
Nick Internicola: Rutgers, West Virginia, Boston College, and South Florida are the main people that are heavily recruiting me.
Nation of Orange: What have you heard from Syracuse? Who's recruiting you from there and what have they told you?
Nick Internicola: Coach Shafer. He likes how I play and I'm aggressive. He wants me as a defensive end.
Nation of Orange: What do you think about Syracuse, the coaching staff, and the program?
Nick Internicola: I like the program a lot and I have a lot of interest in Syracuse. Coach Shafer is a good person and seems like a great coach.
Nation of Orange: What will be the most important factors in your decision?
Nick Internicola: A good relationship with the coaches, players, and playing time.
Nation of Orange: Do you prefer to play outside linebacker or defensive end? How will that impact your decision?
Nick Internicola: I like outside linebacker better, but it won't impact my decision.
Nation of Orange: What are you working on over the summer?
Nick Internicola: My weight, speed, and off the ball moves.
Nation of Orange: Have you taken any visits yet or have any planned?
Nick Internicola: I'll be visiting Boston College in early June, Florida State in mid-June, and Rutgers in late-June.
Nation of Orange: What are your goals for your senior season?
Nick Internicola: To win states.
Nation of Orange: Do you have a time frame for your decision?
Nick Internicola: Between the end of summer and mid-season.
