Running Back Charles Davis' (Avon, Indiana) recruitment has been one with some strange twists and turns. Nearly two weeks ago, 247 Sports reported Davis was committing to Syracuse. Davis himself tweeted out that he had committed, and told us the same story. However, that turned out to be premature, as he subsequently stated he had decommitted, and was opening his recruitment back up.
We caught up with Davis and asked him about his current status as he gets ready to spend his 2012 season at Milford Academy. He says he is still open, and is planning on taking some visits in the coming months. Davis has already visited Northern Illinois this month, but has several others planned for July and August.
In early July, he will be visiting Arkansas. Also in that month he plans on visiting Iowa State and West Virginia. Davis is still in the process of scheduling an Auburn visit, who has also expressed interest in his services. He is hoping the Auburn visit will be in July or August. Syracuse is still on his radar, however, as he plans on taking a visit to see the Orange campus in August.
